Frequently Asked Questions
PRE-MOVE SURVEY
How long does it take to make a move proposal?
We are trying to send out the proposals within 3 working days after receiving the inquiry.
When should I plan the pre-move survey appointment?
We recommend that you arrange the survey at least 1 month before your preferred packing date. The main season in the moving business usually start in May and ends in September. Should your preferred packing date fall within this time, we recommend scheduling the pre-move survey appointment at least 2 months before.
How long does the pre-move survey take?
The pre-move survey normally takes between 30 minutes to one hour.
When should I book the move?
Ideally the packing appointment gets scheduled right after receiving the move proposal from United Relocations. We recommend to book the move at least 3 weeks prior to the packing appointment.
Is a pre-move survey necessary in order to receive a proposal?
The purpose of a pre-move survey is to assure the parameters of the move like volume and item list matches the service proposal. We therefore always recommend having a professional move coordinator take a look at your household goods. Should you prefer scheduling your move based on a item list provided by you then we will do our best to follow this request.
How do I prepare myself for the pre-move survey?
Think of the items that you would like to take with you to your next destination. Make sure you point out items that might be difficult to move or require special handling such as buddha statues or unusual items. Should you like to have a separate proposal with a list of ‘maybe’ items will we do our best to prepare this as an option. Check your electrical appliances for requirements and voltage in the destination country. Begin to select possible dates for the packing appointment.
Can I request a refund after services has purchased?
We have a no-refund policy for all purchases.
INSURANCE
Is insurance included in the move proposal?
As insurance is a third party service it is usually not included in our proposals. However we always recommend the application of insurance protection for domestic and international relocations. The standard insurance includes all items listed in the valuable items form. The premium for this option is being calculated with 3,5% of the total insured value.
What does insurance cover?
Our recommended standard insurance covers 100% of the assigned value to the insured items without deductible.
What is the difference to a lump sum insurance package?
A lump sum insurance package is usually preferred by our corporate clients. The lump sum insurance package includes all items in the transport (items with a value of more than USD 500 have to be listed separately) without the need of having to list each one to be insured. The value per CBM (cubic meter) is set at USD 1840. The premium for this option is being calculated with 3,5% of the total insured value.
Do you provide a total loss insurance?
We usually recommend the standard insurance, however if clients request this solution we will try our best to accommodate it. The premium for this option is being calculated with 0,3% of the total insured value.
